What a year 2023 has been so far!
Residential and commercial sales are under severe pressure with sales figures disappointing. Residential letting is clawing back with year-on-year rental increases approaching 5%. The community schemes industry has been back in full swing in 2022/2023.
The Selection Estates Team continues to expand to meet the demands from our clients. Reliance on technology to bring efficiency is a vital element in our business using cloud-based software offering our clients 24/7 access to information and online meetings. The ability to continue to adapt to an ever-changing business environment is crucial to service delivery and adding value.
The Team continues to grow, adapt and evolve. We welcome the new members to the Team.
The strive towards immunity from load shedding continues with no end in sight. Loadshedding not only terminates lights in the home or business but negatively affects communication via the cell phone network and the fibre network with thieves adding to the woes by stealing the backup battery systems. Crime during loadshedding is on the increase.
On the positive side, community WhatsApp groups and private CCTV systems are having a positive impact in bringing awareness to crime adding descriptions of the perpetrators and in some cases being instrumental in the arrest of the perpetrators.
The bottom line is that “communities are going to have to manage their community”.
A wise person once said that “change is as certain as death and taxes”. We need to embrace change.
